Do not purchase Kenmore Ovens. I spent approximately $1400 on a Kenmore Double Wall Oven in 2002. Within 13 months (of course, just outside of the warranty), the oven needed repair.
After receiving several FO errors on our Kenmore Double Wall Oven we contacted a repairman with Sears.
The repairman came out and told us what we needed to fix the problem so my husband went out to purchase the new "brain" for our oven and install it himself (to save $150).
The oven worked fine for a few months and then all of a sudden the same problem. So my husband turned in the old "brain" for a replacement since it was still under warranty.
Well today the wiring caught on fire and my kitchen filled with smoke. Guess what!?! The wiring to the "brain" isn't what caught fire! I'm thankful that our family is safe and that our home is still intact; just stinky from all of the smoke.
I called the consumer hotline to report the issue. I was told that he would send out a repairman to see if the problem can be fixed and if so to give me an estimate to repair. No thanks!! I'll just buy a new oven to fill that HUGE whole in my kitchen wall . . . Thanks a lot Kenmore!
